Achmat Hassiem

South African Swimmer


Born in Cape Town South Africa

Achmat Hassiem is a South African swimmer. He has competed in the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games and 2010 World Swimming Championships in the Netherlands. He is currently captain of the Western Province able-bodied swimming team. In 2006, he lost part of his leg to a Great White shark. He represented South Africa at the 2012 Paralympics.
