On a monthly basis I collect clothes, toys and other household necessities and distribute to the needy. I have done this over a period of 10 years and I continue to do so.

I donate financial assistance as well to nominated charities as well as people in need

Soup Kitchen and home for orphans and sickly in the south of Johannesburg

Volunteer, 2005 - 2007

Most of the households in this community were headed by children. Their parents had died of AIDS and related diseases. The lady used to feed the community and would visit the bed-ridden and wash them, change their linen and make sure they were fed. She used to feed more than 200 mouths a day

I used to collect food and clothes from my friends and family and take it to the home on a monthly basis. I also went and helped the lady with the visits to the homes to help the sickly

Testimonials

Neil Bloy, Test Manager, Absa (colleague)

"“I had the privilege and great honor of working with Amanda on two projects as her Test Manager, within the HR portfolio at ABSA Capital during 2011. While Amanda is very resolute in all that she does, she has the great ability to be resilient - when most stakeholder were at loggerheads she always managed to redirect us to the set objectives. Her vast knowledge and personal traits make her a great leader and her success (in any environment) will bear witness to this. She is on a path to unimaginable greatness, it is only a matter of time...” September 11, 2012

Charmaine Steyn, Business Analyst & Data Profiling, Absa (colleague)

"“Amanda is a manager anyone can wish for. She is fair, have an open door policy and is a people’s person. In our team meetings or training etc, although she was the manager she interacted and took part in all the activities and discussions and she treats everyone equal and with respect. Each and every Absa Value there is, Amanda exceeds! She is a great asset to our company and a great role model and I am proud to have her as manager. She is focused, honest, reliable, communicates well with the team, go out of her way to assist, leads by example (I have so much respect for her). She is a great leader but never abused her “power” in any way. She is very professional and her positive attitude is contagious. She is always kind, friendly and getting along with everyone who pass her desk/office. Her bubbly/zesty personality makes it so easy to feel at ease when approaching her with issues/problems or even just a quick visit. In team meetings, she would ask each and every team member how they are, it was never just a “how are you in general” meeting. She took personal interest in each individual (project related, personal etc). She is a very modest person with a great sense of humor and a wonderful inspiration to me. I am so thankful to have Amanda as manager and leader.” October 23, 2012

"“To whom it may concern WORK REFERENCE: AMANDA DAMBUZA It has been my privilege to have worked with Amanda since March 2012 to current. She always has time for her colleagues and has great people skills. Amanda has assisted me as Project Manager in resolving various issues promptly. Amanda has recently being appointed as the Acting Head: Business Engagement at Absa Africa Technology. An announcement that was greeted by all with comfort and created reassurance in changing times. Her contributions always elicited very positive feedback and praise from the colleagues and clients she works with. Amanda is structured and disciplined in her approach. She is firm in managing attainment of plans to agreed targets and has the ability to deal with stakeholders at any level in the organization. She uses her own creativity to improve processes and approaches where required and is always willing to do much more than could be expected of her in her role.
