I obtained my BA degree in Value and Policy Studies at the University of Stellenbosch. I then furthered my studies in Human Resource Management and Industrial Psychology. I obtained my LLB (three-year postgraduate programme) degree in 2007.

Whilst completing a Master of Laws in Mercantile Law I read a dissertation on risk management under the guidance of Prof Andreas H van Wyk. During my LLM studies, I worked as a research assistant and junior lecturer in the Department of Private Law and served on the University’s Central Disciplinary Committee. I am a guest lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch and at the USB's NPOs Management Programme.

I commenced my articles with Cluver Markotter Inc. Whilst practising in the firm’s commercial and litigation departments, I assisted leading professionals on various matters relating to company liquidators, close corporations, listed companies, private companies, trustees of insolvent estates and high net worth private individuals on all aspects of corporate restructuring, drafting contracts of employment, employment negotiations, transfers and start-up of business, and settling and interpretation of commercial contracts and agreements.

I am an admitted attorney.

Members meet once per quarter for approximately 2 hours per meeting to discern on policy directive for the College that will ensure good corporate governance of the College.

Members have to give policy directives on Finance, HR, Risks, audits and education and training to meet the needs of industry and commerce. My expertise / experience in Business, Human Resources, Legal and Training compliments the establishment of the Council. Northlink College is one of the largest Colleges in South Africa and one of the most prominent, both nationally and internationally with partners in the UK, Australia, Denmark, Norway and Germany.

Periodically served on the Central Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of Stellenbosch University. The CDC acted against any student of the University, and heard disciplinary cases that could not be heard by the Residence and PSO disciplinary committee (RDC) or the Intermediate Residence Disciplinary Committee (IRDC), other incidents on and off campus, as well as academic matters.

The exercise of original jurisdiction by the CDC excluded the jurisdiction of any of the other disciplinary committees. The CDC serves as appeal committee that may hear appeals against the findings of or imposition of penalty by the RDC and IRDC. A ruling on appeal by the CDC is final and is not be subject to a further right of appeal.

The CDC may impose penalties as serious as the forfeiture of a bursary or loan granted or administered by the University; cancellation of a degree or diploma improperly obtained and/or expulsion from the University or a University residence.
