Born 02-09-1956 in Johannesburg South Africa

Ben Martins is the Minister of Energy. He served as Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises until June 2012. He is also an artist, poet, activist and a member of the African National Congress (ANC). Martins is a practicing artist whose work forms part of the permanent Art collection of the Killie Campbell Collection of the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, the Pretoria and Johannesburg Art Galleries, as well as that of numerous private collections.
