Brian Dames was appointed Chief Executive of Eskom Holdings on 1 July 2010. He was appointed to the Eskom Executive Committee in 2004 after serving Eskom in various Management positions. He joined the utility in 1987 as a graduate in training. He has extensive experience in electricity business, and holds a BSc (Hons), a Graduate Diploma in Utility Management from Samford (USA) and an MBA.
