Burry Stander

South African Cyclist


Born 16-09-1987

Deceased 03-01-2013 (25 years old) in Shelly Beach, Kwa-Zulu Natal

Burry Stander is a South African Mountain Biker. In 2011 he became the first South African to win the Cape Epic. In 2010 he came in at third place at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada. He was the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup under-23 Men's Cross-Country 2009 World Champion. Stander was part of the 2012 Olympic Team.
