At NCS, we managed the circulation of all the publications within in the Times Media Group | Johnnic Communications |Johncom publishers | Times media Group. This was single copy distribution to bulk copy sales. We have also managed the subscription database ensuring that every subscriber received their copy of the publication they subscribed to.

The monitoring of subscriber funds was crucial as revenue only accrues once a copy is duly delivered. I maintained this function in conjunction with a team of dedicated staff ensuring that the independent RNA group receive the print order run and also making sure that the publication are being delivered at the strategic point in order for the subscription area manager to collect and distribute to the single copy salesman.

The department I worked in had to correlate the delivery sheets to the print orders and report any discrepancies. Another function was to ensure that bulk-copy barter deals was being monitored.

Duties and responsibilities included general administration throughout the Postmaster office domain. This included assisting members of the public with their investments in the South African Post Bank.

Further to this, the buy and sell of treasury bonds via the Post bank. I would relieve officers at branch offices who were on leave and or did not report for duty. My reporting line was always to the managing Postmaster of the the office I worked at.

Monthly individual branch reconciliations had to balance or tie in with that of the main investment office in Bloemfontein. This was a crucial and dedicated role as investors could easily have gone to a commercial bank for investment options if lack of knowledge, commitment and the lack of customer satisfaction.

Break-in-service due to my two year defense force training. January 1984 to November 1985.
