I am passionate about Materials and Metallurgical Engineering research. My areas of interest are:
Failure and fracture analysis of Metallic materials
Mechanical behaviour of Metals
Lightweight materials for transportation
I am passionate about the emancipation of economies of Africa. It is about time we train African people to solve African problems. Africa is a virgin land for active engineering and technical research. If our degrees cannot address the socio-economic challenges facing the world, then it is not worth it and we better burn or throw it away. University or formal education gives us the mental telepathy and the ability to analysis and critique issues in order to solve them and not compound or exacerbate them. Africa is faced with the challenges of POVERTY, EDUCATION AND HEALTHCARE. I am interested in people who want to change the world and make it a bit better IN THOSE THREE AREAS. I am passionate about young people with a burning desire and raw innovative, creative and ingenious spirit to effect the changes they want to see in the world. Anything innovative and challenging I am up for it. Life is not about comfort but rather about progress in the direction of our assignments.
Academia, Education and Training
Assist in organising tutorials and conduct of basic practical metallurgical tests such as Metallurgical specimen preparation for Microstructural analysis, Impact, Tensile and Microhardness testing
The masters was two year intensive research where I conducted research on carburising and fatigue behaviour of austenitic stainless steels. I studied the mechanical behaviour of carburised austenitic stainless steels. The fractured surfaces of the tested specimen were also examined using different characterisation techniques.
Consulting and Project Management
Assist faculty in curriculum planning, tutoring and assessment of courses such as Materials Processing, Mechanical Behavior of Materials, Polymer Science and Principles of Materials Science
Assisted in the laboratory of Metallurgy and Material Characterization on Materials fatigue and industrial failure analysis. Acquainted myself with the following equipments:
Hardness testing (Rockwell and Vickers)
Mechanical testing (Tensile and fatigue)
Analytical Scanning Electron Microscopy and light Microscopy (fractured surfaces analysis)
