Born 19-10-1922 in Paarl South Africa

Elsabé Joubert is a South African Writer. She is a Fellow of the British Royal Society of Literature. Her novel The Long Journey of Poppie Nongena is translated into 13 languages and was selected as one of the 100 Best 20th Century Novels in Africa in 2002. The play was performed worldwide between 1982-84, receiving numerous awards.
