About the Position

Job description:

We are looking for a  practical  business leader with a proven track record of working with high-growth entrepreneurial businesses in Southern Africa.

We are looking for someone with an impressive track record in new business development/sales . Leadership experience in a high-growth entrepreneurial environment is a must, and experience with learning and development, management education and training or enterprise development is strongly preferred. The candidate must be based in, or willing to relocate to Johannesburg.


Business development

  • Drive expansion of the B2B sales footprint in Southern Africa, ensuring the company meets aggressive sales growth targets
  • Lead development of new strategic partnerships in Southern Africa, including with organisations engaged in entrepreneurial development and youth employability
  • Build out the local sales team, working with colleagues in other regions to adapt and implement sales methodologies and processes
  • Oversee client management and project implementation
  • Oversee contract negotiation, pricing and invoicing of clients
  • Oversee local marketing of brand in Southern Africa Strategy, partnerships & brand
  • Work with the leadership team to develop and implement strategy in Southern Africa
  • Identify, establish and manage new strategic partnerships to expand our reach into Southern Africa
  • Establish the brand at the forefront of learning and professional development in Africa


  • Represent the company at a senior level in Southern Africa
  • Lead a small but growing Johannesburg-based team serving the region, including day-to-day management
  • Track the particular business environment in the region, including, for example, opportunities and requirements created by South Africa's B-BBEE requirements
  • Identify staff requirements in line with overall budgets and manage the hiring, training on-boarding
  • Set up and improve HR systems, policies and processes, including contracts, compensation and benefits
  • Drive team performance and manage performance reviews

Operations & financial management

  • Manage office, including managing rental and utilities agreements as well as procurement
  • Maintain and improve systems for delivering outstanding customer service in consultation with colleagues in other regions
  • Work with external providers and internal experts to manage and monitor book-keeping, payments, invoicing, payroll and all financial management for the company in SA.

Remuneration: R550-850k base salary depending on experience, plus commission and potentially bonus.
Location: Johannesburg. Occasional travel required in the region and elsewhere Africa
