Job Description

Our client based in Boksburg is looking for an experienced candidate to install, commission and support IT infrastructure and the business systems in order to achieve business objectives

Duties:

 IT Strategy:

Develop and implement a strategy and action plans for the IT department

Align IT strategy to the Business Strategy and to the Group IT Strategy

 

IT Management:

Manage SLA's with service providers

Source IT Hardware and Software Solutions (Hosting of facilities and Internet Services)

Participate in functional groups and/or teams to recommend solutions to problems

Maintain the Company web and mail domains

 Manage the Configuration Management Database (Assets, application software and licensing)

Assess the Business Risk associated with IT systems

Manage all IT asset, hardware and software.

Active engagement with Group IT and GSC IT

 ERP Systems:

Manage integration between the ERP System and external applications

Align ERP System with business processes

Provide first level of support on the ERP System.

Conduct ERP System administration (Users, Security, etc.)

 IT Network:

Manage and support the Network infrastructure (LAN & WAN)

Design the local area computer network to suit business requirements

 Hardware:

Oversee installation of network hardware and install and configure servers, personal computers and network peripherals

Monitor and maintain the enterprise servers and computer systems

Monitor and maintain company printing devices

Manage network connectivity with Service Providers

 Software:

Install and commission server and computer application software

Monitor and maintain the server and computer operating systems

Manage software configurations and updates

 Security:

Install and manage security systems for the IT network (Users, Anti-virus, Firewalls, etc.)

Manage outsourced firewall rules and policies

 Administration:

Monitor network availability

Manage system backups and Disaster Recovery Procedures (DRP's)

Manage and maintain the Active Directory and Group policies (Domain system)

 IT Support:

Support the local & wide area computer networks

Troubleshoot network problems and make improvement recommendations

Resolve technical computer problems

Escalate problems that cannot be resolved to the Service Provider Support Centre

 Telecoms (VOIP, PABX, mobile):

Plan and manage Telecommunication Network

Troubleshoot Telecommunication problems and make improvement recommendations

Telephone Management Systems (Reporting and Cost Control)

 Manage projects

 Risk Management:

Provide Business and IT management with guidance on IT risk management matters, particularly on application and infrastructure security.

Responsible for developing and maintaining the IT Risk Assessment at Group Level

 IT Governance/IT Audits

Identifying areas where business units should consider additional investment & resources

Conduct audits or lead audit teams in performance of IT audits and reviews of systems, applications and IT processes. Prepare and report results to Executives

Perform various other reviews of IT management policies and procedures such as change management, business continuity planning/ disaster recovery and information security to ensure that controls surrounding these processes are adequate.

Develop, build & implement tools to analyze data to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness, (including for risk assessments). Ultimately be a source for analytics that business units adopt to provide business insights or for continuous auditing.

Conduct audits or lead audit teams in operational / financial audits.

Evaluating IT accounting practices to trace company's resources & assets
