Job Description

Job Purpose

The post is required to supervise staff, to meet tight deadlines, to be accurate, to follow policies and procedures and to build strategic relationships with line manager and other stakeholders, associated with the business of the organization and members of the public and Drs.

 

Dimension of position in Relation to Organizational Chart, Directly reports to the CEO

Hospital Manager 

Key Responsibilities

Quality Systems Management

Implementing and improving quality standardized metrics

Ensuring compliance to clinical benchmarking initiatives in order to meet National Core Standards

Identifying problems utilizing the root cause analysis and implement necessary remedial action.

Hospital Operations Management

Implementing and developing best operating practices and strategic business plans in order to optimize the functioning of hospital operations

 

People Management

Actively sponsoring initiatives and demonstrate visible leadership skill in order to improve productivity and support change

Actively leading and managing hospital feedback meetings in order to achieve strategic objectives

Developing a resourcing plan in order to recruit talented staff in accordance with agreed time periods, taking into account 

company Providing direction and inspire positive work behavior

Developing and manage training plans for each department in order to facilitate development

Managing performance ratings for all staff through the performance improvement process

Ensuring all transactional processing is managed by the relevant department head in order to provide employee compensation and benefits

Productive working relationships are supported with minimum H R issues

Ensuring all exit interviews are conducted in order to ensure retention of critical and talented professional staff

 

Relationship Management with Doctors

Developing retention strategies and attract doctors in order to maintain mutually beneficial relationships.

 

Implementation of Marketing Strategy (including growth)

Developing and understand competitor strategies in order to effectively market the hospital

Positioning projects within local communities in order to ensure the hospital is visible

Achievement of the Hospital Financial targets

Preparing and monitor annual budgets with management in order to implement corrective action as required

Planning and delivering Capex projects on time and within the specified budget

Identifying, developing and marketing new business opportunities

Supporting activities in order to maximize revenue generation

Managing the cost of sales and overheads effectively in order to reduce cost

 

Governance and Risk Management

Preparing annual risk assessment and progress reviews in order to achieve sound business ethics and risk management

 

 

Relationship with Government is functional

Ensure that there are regular services level meetings with government in and outside the facility

Ensure that the service contract is extended for a further period

Ensure that adequate annual tariff increases are obtained.
