Helen Suzman

Deceased 01-01-2009 (91 years old)

Helen Suzman was a South African anti-apartheid activist and politician. She spent a total of 36 years in parliament, during which she defended the right to freedom of expression for all South Africans. She passed away peacefully in her home in Johannesburg in January 2009.
