Born 04-04-1939 in Witbank South Africa

Hugh Masekela is an internationally acclaimed South African trumpeter, bandleader, composer and lyricist. He is the founder of the Maapsa which is an organization that addresses drug rehabilitation for musicians and artists. Masekela moved to Botswana in 1981 and started the Botswana International School of Music.
