Job Description:

HR Business Partner: Support Centre

We are looking for a highly capable HR Business Partner to join our Mr Price Apparel People team at Support Center. The role will partner with line managers to execute the People elements of the business strategy in the Marketing, Quality, Trend & Design and Finance departments. This includes creating an enabling and engaging environment to unlock individual potential and drive business performance.

Talent Acquisition

  •  Partner with line managers and recruitment team to develop a recruitment strategy to meet current and future division requirements and employment equity plan goals.
  •  Support line managers in the selection process to ensure candidates meet role requirements and are aligned with the mrp culture and values.
  • Create and facilitate induction programme to ensure successful orientation of new associates.
  • Partner with recruitment team and mrpfoundation to implement internship programmes to create high potential talent pools.

Talent and Performance Management

  • Coach line managers to hold performance and career discussions.
  • Ensure succession plans are in place.
  • Advise line managers on performance management and facilitate performance improvement  plans as required

Training and Development

  • Conduct training needs assessment to identify skills gaps and training needs with line managers.
  • Partner with mrpacademy to identify and source appropriate learning and development interventions.
  • Ensure that each individual has a personal development plan in place.

Culture

  • Support mrp company-wide culture and communication initiatives and implement any specific engagement or retention strategy within departments as required.
  • Analyse culture survey results and partner with line managers to create action plans to sustain or improve results.
  • Encourage participation in wellness initiatives and promote a safe and healthy working environment.

Employee Relations and Reporting

  • Answer people related queries and educate line managers and associates on benefits, HR policies, procedures and processes.
  • Promote and ensure fair employee practices and a positive climate of mutual trust and respect.
  • Analyse information and compile reports for management and board meetings. 

As a good fit for this challenging role, you will have:

  • A recognized HR Degree/ Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years similar experience in a retail or fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Good knowledge of legislative requirements (e.g. BCEA, LRA, COIDA, EEA)
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office suite (MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the business
  • Strong continuous improvement orientation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Diplomacy and empathy
