Job Description:

Learning & Development Manager
The L&D Manager is responsible for programming and executing long-term learning and development strategies to train and upskill our team. This includes day-to-day management of a wide range of L&D activities to make learning visible at GetSmarter.
These combined strategies and activities ensure that our team have the necessary skills to be effective and efficient in their roles, to create internal talent pipelines, and address skills gaps within GetSmarter.
Further to the above, our L&D Manager is also responsible for compliance within their portfolio, which includes overseeing the annual submission of our WSP/ATR to the ETDP SETA.
This role can only be filled by someone with a passion for learning, who is approachable and a servant leader.
Key responsibilities
Learning & Development
Lead and execute all L&D initiatives at GetSmarter.
Establish and lead our L&D committee to support our L&D vision.
Set a strategy for and upgrade the pre- and onboarding programme as needed to decrease time to productivity.
Design and implement a management onboarding programme for the relevant roles across our bands.
Work closely with our Talent Manager to hold deep dives into our Employee Engagement survey results to action the necessary improvement plans.
Receive additional training requests, and provide support where needed by suggesting training solutions.
Submit WSP/ATR
Oversee the necessary steps to ensure we submit and comply annually.
Professional Development budget
Assume full responsibility for the management of the People Development budget which fits into the Talent budget.
Internship programmes
Work closely with our Talent Manager and Line Managers to design relevant internship programmes to mitigate critical skills recruitment risks.
Job requirements
At least 4 years learning and development experience is essential.
HR, Psychology, Sociology degree is preferable.
Previous experience with WSP/ATR submissions.
Management and team development experience.
