Level and Scope of responsibility:
I was responsible for the development and roll out of the degree program- from their quality assurance to the curriculum and assessment as well as the development of teaching and learning capacity at each site. I was also responsible for building a research profile within the IIE. I was also responsible for the co-ordination of the equitable delivery of the degrees. I had to mentor and develop other IIE academics.
Key performance areas included the development and implementation of the curriculum at degree level
Manage subject matter experts responsible Quality assure the roll out of degrees at site level including remedial action as required (develop and administer a quality improvement process). Develop a research profile for the faculty concerned- including leading and mentoring research activities. Network with employers and other higher education providers to ensure articulation of degrees with postgraduate opportunities at other institutions. Develop the capacity of site lecturers and IIE academics in relation to degree delivery includes mentoring. Contribute to the overall quality development processes of the IIE which includes the development of academic governance, new pedagogy and the use of technology to support learning.
