Investigation of process upsets and quality/ off-spec incidents.

Economic evaluations. Generation of new ideas and business cases to justify new projects.

MFD reviews and update to as-built status.

Modelling tools e.g. Flownex simulation of first stage knock out drum pump recycle for Vent Recovery Unit (VRU) on Poly 2 (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) plant so as to verify the existing orifice size on the recycle line; Aspen simulation of the de-ethaniser, de-methaniser and C2-splitter distillation columns on the Monomers (S4600) plant so as to provide an operational baseline for three separate load cases on each column to assist the operators in evaluating the column performance during periods when the analysers are unreliable.

Process design verifications e.g. design evaluation of an economiser on the Thermal Oxidation plant (S6900) in order to generate design basis document so to assess mass and energy balance around this unit.
