Testimonials

Nathan Carolissen

"Liesl is the kind of person that goes beyond the call of duty when it comes to making people feel accepted and special. She has the ability to look beyond face-value and see the best in each and every person when engaging with them.

She is one of the most kind-hearted and generous people I’ve ever come across. She has a personality that lights the room up no matter where she may find herself and people naturally gravitate towards her because of her bubbly and warm nature. If ever there was someone who personifies excellence, it’s Liesl. She is always presentable and strives for excellence in every endeavor she pursues.
" - 2011

Gail Renecke

"When I think of Liesl I am happy to think of an honest, trustworthy, faithful, caring and compassionate person who will put the needs of others ahead of her own. This has been proven time and time again through her work in the church and in the community. One can witness this through her voluntary work for Habitat for Humanity, work on the Social Action Committee at church, her Art class (CATh) in Nyanga (Cape Town), and the various community projects she has adopted along the way. Every task and project is met with the utmost commitment. " - 2011

Sascha Archer

"Liesl is an outgoing and creative individual who is very dedicated and committed to her work with children, the Arts and her chosen career path as an Art Therapist.

Liesl is reliable, enthusiastic, responsible, personable and a hard worker. I experienced her as having an acute sense of self-awareness, sensitivity to the children and women we work with, an ability to meet people in the here-and-now, and with a focus on resources versus deficits.
" - 2011

Ikuko Acosta

"I have known Liesl since September 2011 when she entered the Graduate Art Therapy Program at New York University. I knew Liesl in the capacity of both her professor and advisor throughout her matriculation in the Program for two years.

Liesl is an intelligent, driven, sensitive and very compassionate young woman who devoted herself to become a professional art therapist in the USA where she was able to obtain a high quality and thorough art therapy training. Liesl graduated with a good academic and clinical standing receiving a MA degree in Art Therapy in May 2013.

Shortly after graduating from NYU, Liesl left the USA to practice her training in her native country, South Africa and apply her skills. Liesl now works as a researcher in an unrelated field but, already Liesl has asserted herself fully and has been invited to present a paper at The IAFOR International Conference on Technology in the Classroom in Hawaii this January.
