He started his legal career as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa, having been admitted as such on 6 February 2004.

On 5 May 2017 he had his name removed from the Roll of Attorneys, at his own request, and he was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate.

He spent his first four years post-admission from February 2004 until December 2007 as an attorney in private practice.

In January 2008, he joined the Department of Justice as a Senior State Law Adviser where he specialised in legislative drafting and general constitutional law advisory services.

In January 2009, he joined the Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority as a Senior State Advocate where he specialised in civil asset forfeiture litigation .

He has a solid litigation skills and experience in the following areas:
Constitutional and administrative law;
General commercial law and insolvency law;
, damages law, insurance law, general commercial and asset forfeiture law.

He has special interest to develop further litigation skills in banking and financial regulatory laws, competition law, intellectual property laws, labour law, maritime and shipping law, pensions and employee benefits law, tax, customs and excise law .
