MAKHO NGCOBO is the Group Chief Executive of Contento Group, which is invested in different sectors including engineering, media, entertainment, hospitality, project management and property development. She has natural entrepreneurial flair, having started her first business enterprise at age 23 in 1999 immediately after completing her first degree. She has since started and acquired businesses in various sectors. Although she started her young professional life in the enterprise development and policy development space, she has evolved into project/programme management field within the Local Economic Development Environment and spends most of her time attending to management and strategic issues affecting Contento Group.

She boasts an MSc in Major Programme Management from the University of Oxford, UK; a Masters of Management in Public Policy from the University of Witwatersrand; an executive diploma in Strategic Leadership from the University of Pretoria; another executive diploma in International Trade from the Swedish Trade Council/ITRISA; a post-graduation diploma in Public Project Management from the University of KZN (Westville) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the same institution.
Makho is the fellow of the International Women’s Forum, a by-invitation-only organization. She has received an award for Best Research Project by University of Pretoria: GIBS for Strategic Leadership Program class of 2006/7; a recognition by Cosmopolitan Magazine as a Young Woman Achiever; received a merritorial award from the CEO Magazine: SA’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government in the Communications Sector.
