Malusi Zondo

Nickname: 'MZ'

Johannesburg based Entrepreneur

Currently resides in: Gauteng, South Africa

Born 10-04-1979 in Durban South Africa

Was born 1979 by blind Parents in uMlazi a Durban Township .He was one of the first young brokers for Discovery Holdings before joining Sage Financial Services as a Executives Consultant. Prior to that, he was Deputy President at SAFED (South African Entrepreneurial Development, one of the first youth in business structures shaping the direction of young people in business in the 21th century. He joined the federation in Durban where he was also a founder member. They amalgamated all youth business structure in KZN to form one unified chamber that is now called KYCC were he became the first founding Deputy President. He later grew his business interest beyond the borders of Kwazulu Natal. After helping set up KYCC, Malusi decided to tackle the big city of Johannesburg, where he facilitated the facilitation of a national working group based on the same structure as the KYCC.

Apart from being involved in the Economic struggle and transformation, he is the sole founder and owner of a tour operations business by the name of Blue Tours. This business was set up in 2003 to cater for the local and international tourist and transport needs of South African and global travelers. Several key conferences, including the inauguration of Mr Jacob Zuma as the South African president in 2009, and the World Youth Festival are some of the event that, have been catered for by Blue Tours.

Malusi is involved in a number of activities with youth, including being the President and founder of Gauteng Province Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industries . Additionally he is involved establishing the national structure with other provinces that will be known as “YOUTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SOUTH AFRICA”, focusing on the national development of youth in business.

We salute the man from UMlazi who bears typical rags to success story we read about in the media. More importantly, his ability to facilitate relations among entrepreneurs through his networks has resulted in multi million rand deals being tied up. His soft spoken and calculating nature is very accommodative of persons that are not familiar with him, but need his person to help enhance their project viability through introducing them to productive networks.

media exposure

times | 2009

This whole year I've had maybe a week's leave. Even Americans and Koreans get more leave than that.
Sure, there have been compensations. My Sisyphean labours this year have exposed me to some remarkable people. People like Malusi Zondo, owner of a Durban-based business called Blue Tours, which lays on transfers, tours, limos, helicopters, yachts - you name it.
Malusi's parents were from Umlazi and both were blind, but they managed to give their five children the kind of start in life that has made Malusi a top-notch entrepreneur.
This year, thanks to my boss, I've met George Ntozonke and the 15 or so - mostly handicapped - volunteer workers of the Nonkqubela Project outside Queenstown.
Working in a former Bantustan school, these people work for a pittance to turn raw sisal into beautiful, functional objects. Dec 08'2009 by Peter Delmar
