Mzilikazi Wa Afrika

Born in South Africa

Mzilikazi wa Afrika is an award winning investigative reporter with the Sunday Times newspaper. He is also a poet, writing a poetry book titled 'The Ugly Ones Are So Beautiful'. He won the Nat Nakasa Award (1999 and 2001). He is also a musician, song writer and producer, who released a deep house album in 2008. wa Afrika was one of the journalists who worked on a story that alleged police commissioner General Bheki Cele had leased new police headquarters for R500-million without following the normal tendering process, which was published 01 August 2010. He was arrested on 04 August 2010 for fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
