Peter Vale is an academic, Public intellectual and journalist. He is Professor of Humanities at the University of Johannesburg, the Nelson Mandela Chair of Politics Emeritus, Rhodes University. Vale is Member of Editorial Boards of academic journals in Argentina, Bangladesh, Britain, Lesotho, Portugal, Spain and South Africa. He was elected Member, Academy of Science of South Africa.
