My Role as Trainee Merchandise Planner:
Planning and Managing how money is spent when buying Merchandise (Products)
Work closely with Buyer to develop a Merchandise strategy
Controlling the budget and managing Supply Chain, making sure suppliers deliver on proposed lead time, right price and quantities
Analyse how past merchandise buys have performed across various stores

StartUp Weekend Durban is an event that takes place over one weekend in which aspiring entrepreneurs can turn their business ideas into start-ups in 54hours. This event brings about iconic business people (Coaches) to informatively engage with the participants with a basic aim of assisting them in putting plans in place to attain their business goals.
This international event and first of its kind in Durban and at UKZN has received enormous support from various companies and institutions like ABSA and the EThekwini Municipality.
The association brings together all role players in the financial literacy sector to facilitate financial education and related activities to financial illeterate individuals of society. The association has tremendous potential to help people build assets and create wealth not only for themselves but for the Province and Country.
My obligation was to oversee the operations of the team and to ensure that we clear on our mandate of identifying and addressed local needs and in turn use entrepreneurship as a tool to create self-sustainable community projects that will in turn improve individual’s quality of life and standard of living. In my tenure as president we impacted over 2300 lives, created over 55 jobs, dedicating over 17800 hours to our projects and raising over R552 000 in corporate sponsorship and entrepreneurial fundraising initiatives. My leadership was evident across four campuses of operation with a membership base of 212 members.
