Solomon Mujuru

Zimbabwean military officer and politician

Solomon Mujuru was a Zimbabwean military officer and politician who led Robert Mugabe's guerrilla forces during the Rhodesian Bush War. He served Zimbabwe in various positions during his career, including Deputy Secretary of Defence for Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) from 1977 and Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army from 1981, after which he was promoted to full General in 1992. He served as a Member of Parliament for Chikomba, from 1994 to 2000.
