Alice Krige

Alice Maud Krige

South African Actress


Born 28-06-1954

Alice Krige is a South African Actress. She debuted in 1981 in a West End theatre production of Bernard Shaw's play Arms and the Man. She chose to focus on her theatre career and worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company for two seasons: 1982 to 1983. She was awarded the Most Promising Newcomer for Arms and the Man Award, as well as the Plays and Players Award for Arms and the Man.

Krige got her first TV role in the 1980's serie A Tale of Two Cities. She has made numerous guest appearances in top television shows ever since. These include (but aren't limited to): The 4400, Law & Order, Threat Matrix, Six Feet Under, Beverly Hills 90210, Murder She Wrote and the new 2011 series Walking Dead. Krige won Best Supporting Actress at the 1997 Saturn Awards for her role as Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact. She has won an award for Best Actress for her role in the movie Sleepwalkers as well.

Krige was also in several movies, of which several were horror films (Ghost Story, Sleepwalkers, Stay Alive and Silent Hill).
