Kermit Erasmus completes move to Mamelodi Sundowns

Reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns have added Cape Town City striker Kermit Erasmus to their already impressive attacking roster.

The Bafana Bafana player was among the league’s leading goal-scorers in the recently-concluded season, finishing with 13 strikes.

His departure was confirmed by City on Sunday, bringing an end to a two-season spell where he netted 17 times in 42 appearances across competitions.

Erasmus’ departure is the second player exit from the Citizens in as many days, after the club bid farewell to defender Ebrahim Seedat, who has joined top-flight newcomers TS Galaxy.

The former Orlando Pirates striker is also the latest in a long string of high-profile signings made by Sundowns, following the arrival of Supersport United winger Aubrey Modiba at Chloorkop earlier in the week.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ riches up front

He arrives at the club shortly after the shock exit of long-time head coach Pitso Mosimane, who had begun bolstering his squad ahead of the next season.

The Tshwane giants have added a number of reinforcements up front, most notably golden boot winner Peter Shalulile, who joined from Highlands Park.

Other attacking players recruited the club include former Bidvest Wits duo Gift Motupa and Haashim Domingo, as well as ex-Black Leopards star Lesedi Kapinga.

They add to an already formidable roster of forwards, with include South American pair Jose Ali Meza and Mauricio Affonso, as well Bafana stars such as Themba Zwane, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Lebohang Maboe.
