According to Arteta, the injury was the reason the Gunners replaced him during their home defeat to Aston Villa with a 3-0 scoreline.

“We don’t know [the extent] of it,” our manager said.
“We have to scan him tomorrow or the day after and see what he felt straight away. Let’s wait and see what the magnitude of the injury is.
“I don’t know [if he will go away with Ghana now]. As I said, the doctor will have to have a look at him and probably scan him. Then we will decide what to do with him.”

Partey since joining Arsenal this season has been a key player in their squad and perhaps if he had played for 90 minute, the North London club would have at least scored a goal.
The timing of Partey’s injury comes at a time Arsenal don’t have much to worry as the international break is set to commence.

Hopefully, he will be back into the team after the international break.
So far he has made four appearances for Arsenal this season following a move from Atletico Madrid during the summer market transfer.
Thomas represented his nation at two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. He was named into the CAF Team of the Year in 2018, and won Ghana Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019 and would have made it to the national team first squad if not for the injury.
