Letsoalo eyeing record breaking campaign to secure overseas move

Bloemfontein Celtic star Victor Letsoalo has set himself a record breaking target of goals for the 2020/2021 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign.

Letsoalo has come of age at Bloemfontein Celtic over the last year and the 27-year-old attacker has set his sights on securing a move abroad however, in order to achieve that, he believes scoring 30 goals this season is necessary.

Letsoalo was rewarded for his consistency at the end of season awards after being named as the 2020 Nedbank Cup Player of the tournament. The form man already has three goals and one assist after just five games this season.

The sky is the limit for Celtic’s Letsoalo

After promising displays against the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United, Maritzburg United and Mamelodi Sundowns, Letsoalo has been tipped as one of the top players in the league and he has since set himself the mammoth task of breaking the 30 goal mark this season.

“The top-scorer award is something I really wish to win. I want to score in each and every game across all competitions. My target is 30 goals in all competitions this season,’’ Letsoalo told Sowetan.

“Soon I will go. I want to play overseas, that’s my ultimate goal. I’d be delighted to play for Bafana. I will wait for my chance. I know it may take time for me to be there but eventually I will be part of the team.”

Celtic ready for MTN8 final

Bloemfontein Celtic are due to battle Orlando Pirates in the final of the 2020 MTN8 competition on 12 December and Victor Letsoalo believes focusing on the match at hand is key.

“As players we don’t focus on off-field disturbances. When we enter the field we do what we are supposed to do, which is to play football,’’ Letsoalo added.

“We’ve not achieved anything yet. We are yet to win a trophy to start with. But our promising form has to do with the environment here. We’re a family. We have one spirit, we love each other.’’

Bloemfontein Celtic and Letsoalo next face Cape Town City FC away on Sunday afternoon before traveling to the DR Congo to face Maniema Union FC in the CAF Confederations Cup.
