Rakhale open to joining Kaizer Chiefs should they be interested in him

Former Orlando Pirates ace Thabo Rakhale has opened up regarding his surprise move to DStv Premiership newcomers Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

Rakhale, 30-years-old, joined the Limpopo based side after being on the sidelines for over five months following his departure from Chippa United.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder has explained the reasoning behind his surprise arrival in Thohoyandou while admitting he wouldn’t be deterred from joining Kaizer Chiefs despite previously donning the colours of their arch rivals should the opportunity present itself.

Rakhale opens up on Kaizer Chiefs rumours

Thabo Rakhale was linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs before signing for Tshakhuma however the midfielder has since opened up regarding such rumours while admitting he wouldn’t pass up on the opportunity should it materialize.

“No no no, honestly speaking that (Kaizer Chiefs interest) was just a rumour. I mean that story has been going on since 2018 so even now I don’t know who started that rumour.” Rakhale told SAFM.

“Even here in Limpopo people are asking me if I’m still going to Kaizer Chiefs and I’m like ‘No I’m here now guys, isn’t it? Rakhale is here.’

“I’d consider playing for Kaizer Chiefs if they came for me. The most important thing is playing football, I’d play for any team. I mean not a single person would’ve thought I would come to play in Limpopo.”

“Yeah there were other offers but I think Tshakhuma showed a lot of interest and I’ve worked with the coach before and played with some of the players before. There’s many quality players here so and player would love to join this team.” – Rakhale added.

“It’s a worry that Tshakhuma has had many off-field challenges but there’s always challenges and this is one of them. So I decided to risk it and see what would happen. My agent was in contact with AmaZulu but I don’t know what happened with that. He just told me AmaZulu decided otherwise.”

Thabo Rakhale could be in line to make his debut for Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila over the weekend when they face Baroka FC on Sunday afternoon.
