10 South Africans in season-ending Race to Dubai field + follow Round 1 LIVE

The 2020 Race to Dubai reaches its conclusion at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai this week, with players battling it out to end the year as European No 1.

LIVE | FOLLOW THE ACTION FROM ROUND 1

As it stands, four players are guaranteed to claim the Race to Dubai crown with victory at the DP World Tour Championship: Patrick Reed, Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa and Lee Westwood.

For four others – Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Victor Perez, Aaron Rai and Tyrrell Hatton – victory is guaranteed provided Reed doesn’t finish second alone.

But with 2 000 points of the 12 000 points going to the winner, there is still a mathematical chance that any of the leading available players in the Race to Dubai standings could be crowned champion.

Reed leads the standings and is looking to become the first ever American winner of the European Race to Dubai title.

10 SOUTH AFRICANS IN THE FIELD

The 65-man field includes no fewer than 10 South Africans.

Those players hoping for glory at the Jumeirah Golf Estates layout are, in no particular order, Bezuidenhout, Garrick Higgo, Erik van Rooyen, Shaun Norris, Branden Grace, George Coetzee, Brandon Stone, Justin Harding, Wilco Nienaber and Dean Burmester.

Good luck to them!
