Chiefs opted to rest Ramahlwe Mphahlele, but continued with captain Itumeleng Khune in goal, while Anthony Akumu Agay and Siphelele Ntshangase were also given starts.

Bamenda only arrived in the country on the day of the match following visa delays, but to their credit fought throughout the 90 minutes and held the Amakhosi giants to 0-0 draw.

It as only Eric Mathoho’s away goal in the first-leg clash Limbe last Sunday that separated the sides over the two legs.

Gavin Hunt’s Kaizer Chiefs will now face Angolan giants Primeiro de Agosto for a place in the 2020/21 group stage of Africa’s elite club competition.

Kaizer Chiefs will next be in action in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday, December 8 when they host Black Leopards at the FNB Stadium at 19:30.

Chiefs find themselves down in 13th spot in the standings, albeit having played one fewer match than the majority of their rivals.

Worryingly though, they are already nine points behind defending champions and current log-leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Black Leopards are faring even worse, down in 15th-place with just three points from their opening five matches of the season.
