KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE STRUGGLED UNDER GAVIN HUNT

It’s been a struggle thus far this season for Gavin Hunt’s men and they were looking to finish on a high at home against Bloemfontein Celtic at the FNB Stadium.

Things started well as Amakhosi took the lead in the ninth minute through Kenyan midfielder Anthony Akumu.

With Chiefs ahead 1-0 at the half-time break, fans of the Glamour Boys would’ve been forgiven for thinking that a win was on the cards.

Alas, Siwelele equalised in the 67-minute through midfielder Tumelo Mangweni.

KAIZER CHIEFS MOVED TO 12TH PLACE

Both sides had to be content with a single point for the draw.

That one point saw Chiefs move up to 12th place in the standings after eight matches with seven points.

Those seven points have come via a single victory, four draws and three defeats.

Meanwhile, Bloemfontein Celtic moved up to ninth-place with eight points, but have played one match fewer than the rest of the DStv Premiership teams.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ACTION

While Chiefs’ league matches may be finished for 2020, they do have a CAF Champions League 1st leg, 1st round clash against Angolan side C.D. Primeiro de Agosto on Wednesday, December 23.

The match will take place at the FNB Stadium and kick-off is scheduled for 18:00.

Bloemfontein Celtic, meanwhile, will also be in CAF action next week when they play their 1st leg, 1st round Confederation Cup match against Nigeria side Rivers United FC at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium.

Kick-off on Wednesday, December 23 is at 18:00.

In other DStv Premiership results on Saturday, SuperSport United were too strong for Baroka FC winning 3-1, Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns played to a 1-1 draw and Cape Town City beat TS Galaxy 3-2.
