Kaizer Chiefs news: Hunt drops Samir Nurkovic bombshell

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt has claimed that Samir Nurkovic has been sitting on the sidelines at the Amakhosi due to politics off the field of play, and not through a groin injury as originally claimed.

Hunt, whose side played out to a 2-2 draw against Black Leopards this evening, insisted that Kaizer Chiefs talisman Samir Nurkovic has been fit to play for over two weeks however ‘other problems’ have prevented the struggling Soweto outfit from fielding their Serbian marksman.

Kaizer Chiefs star Samir Nurkovic has ‘other problems’

“Nurkovic has been fit for about two weeks now but obviously there are other problems. Those problems must be sorted out first. I mean he could play but let’s leave it for another day.” – Hunt told SuperSport TV before Kaizer Chiefs’ clash against Black Leopards.

Hunt left disappointed in Amakhosi seniors

Kaizer Chiefs found themselves two goals down before half-time however both goals came from disastrous errors by senior Amakhosi players.

The first goal conceded came as a result of a shocking Itumeleng Khune mistake while experienced defenders Eric Mathoho and Daniel Cardoso were both at fault for the second goal on the night.

“We gave them a start. Let’s be honest. We gave them a start. Unbelievable errors. There’s not much I want to say. But you can’t give a start like that.” Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt told SuperSport TV after the game.

“Mistakes, big mistakes from big players so you don’t expect that but it’s been happening since I’ve been here. But you got to get through it and stick together and get through this. Disappointing. I thought there were a lot of opportunities in the second half. I mean, last play of the game, Ntshangase, trying to flick it just had to play it simple and we would have scored.

“So ja, disappointed, but we gave them a start. What we’ve been doing all season. Certainly an area of the team that we work on on a daily basis but basic things like that we can’t have.”

Kaizer Chiefs next turn their attention to SuperSport United who they face in a DStv Premiership clash in just under a week’s time.
