Amakhosi lost 2-1 to Matsatsantsa at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

CHIEFS WERE REDUCED TO 10 MEN

To add insult to injury, Chiefs were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when Philani Zulu was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle.

Chiefs started the match in dominant fashion, but as has been their Achilles heel all season, they failed to find the back of the net.

Instead it was SuperSport United who took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break thanks to a goal by man of the match Bradley Grobler.

Shortly after the resumption, Matsatsantsa doubled their lead through Sipho Mbule.

Despite being at a numerical disadvantage, Chiefs pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 89th minute by Lebogang Manyama.

CHIEFS REMAIN 12TH IN THE STANDINGS

Despite the defeat, Chiefs remained in 12th place in the standings with just six points from seven matches.

Chiefs have only managed six goals in those seven matches, while conceding 10.

SuperSport United jumped to fourth in the log with their fourth win of the season in only their sixth match.

Chiefs will next be in action on Saturday, December 19 when they host Bloemfotein Celtic at the FNB Stadium.

OTHER RESULTS ON TUESDAY

Meanwhile, in other results in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday, December 15, defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns beat TS Galaxy 2-0, while there were also 2-1 wins for Cape Town City (over Stellenbosch FC) and Swallows FC over basement side, Maritzburg United.
