Khama Billiat may have scored, but has work to do, says coach Gavin Hunt

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has given his views on Khama Billiat’s first goal of the season and the veteran striker’s overall performance to date.

BILLIAT FINALLY GOT OFF THE MARK

The Soweto giant’s stuttering start to the 2020/21 season continued in mid-week when they went 2-0 down to Black Leopards and were made to fight for ultimately a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.

The result saw Amakhosi move to 12th position in the DStv Premiership standings with a single victory to their name after six matches this season.

Amakhosi have also picked up three draws and suffered two defeats.

On the bright side, Billiat finally got off the mark this season as he scored the all-important equaliser in what was only his third goal for the club since September 2019.

“Any goal he scores is a great goal, so those ones count,” Hunt said during his virtual press conference after the match.

“But there’s a lot to work on, on his overall performance, but he scored, got us the equaliser, so we move on and try and eradicate the mistakes we’ve made.”

NEXT IN ACTION NEXT TUESDAY

Chiefs are next in DStv Premiership action against SuperSport United on Tuesday, December 15 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

Matsatsantsa are enjoying a far better time of things this season, having picked up nine points from only five matches to lie sixth in the standings.
