The Lions won 27-12 after leading 14-6 at half-time.
Lions duo, wing Courtnall Skosan and fullback Tiaan Schoeman, scored the only tries of the match to give the home side’s title chances a real shot in the arm.
The Lions picked up four points for their victory to jump to second in the standings.
The Sharks left empty-handed and dropped to third in the log.
In next weekend’s final round of matches for the year, the Lions face a tough trip to Loftus Versfeld to face the Bulls on Saturday, December 26 at 19:00.
The Sharks, meanwhile, will be on the road again, this time against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Sunday, December 27.
Kick-off is at 16:30.
