Another weekend, another PSL coach bites the dust

The life of a DStv Premiership coach certainly is a rollercoaster one. It’s not a matter of IF you’ll be fired, but rather WHEN!

Black Leopards have undergone yet another coaching change this season after Dylan Kerr was relieved of his duties.

Lidoda Duvha confirmed that Kerr has left the club after the two parties “amicably” agreed to part ways on Sunday.

The decision follows Black Leopards’ most recent DStv Premiership defeat (3-0) to Chippa United on Saturday.

Unbelievably, the decision to sack Kerr comes just seven days after Black Leopards stunned Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

The club released a statement confirming that assistant coaches Morgan Shivambu and Lehlohonolo Seema will take charge on an interim basis.

“Black Leopards FC and their head coach Dylan Kerr have reached an agreement to part ways amicably,” read the statement.

“Assistant coaches Morgan Shivambu and Lehlohonolo Seema, together with goalkeeper coach Sam Banda, will be responsible for the team in the meantime.”

Kerr had only returned to Black Leopards for a second spell in November of last year, shortly after being dismissed by Limpopo rivals Baroka FC.

His second spell at the club lasted just nine matches.

In those matches Kerr managed two victories, three draws and four defeats before becoming the club’s fourth coaching casualty since the start of 2020.

Black Leopards are currently down in 15th place in the DStv Premiership log.

Life certainly wont be easy for Shivanbu and Seema as their first assignment in charge will be against defending champions and current log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns away from home on Wednesday, 27 January.

Kick-off is at 17:00.
