The first Test will begin at the National Stadium in Karachi on Tuesday, 26 January at 07:00 SA time.

Pakistan commentators Bazid Khan, Ramiz Raja and Wasim Akram will be joined by former Proteas batsman Daryll Cullinan, renowned cricket commentator Mike Haysman and former New Zealand fast bowler Simon Doull.

Cullinan and Haysman expressed their delight at joining the commentary panel for what promises to be an absorbing series.

Cullinan said: “I’m thrilled to be back in Pakistan and looking forward to seeing a very competitive series between two very talented teams.”

Haysman added: “I distinctly remember saying on air as the second Test concluded in Pakistan in 2003 (Pakistan vs South Africa series) that there is nothing to separate these two sides. Here we are 18 years later ready to resume that battle and this historic tour promises an epic encounter. I will be delighted to call it live.”

Cullinan, has been a divisive figure both during his career and post-retirement. He courted controversy back in 2016 when he stated that cricket was “inherently not a black man’s game in South Africa”.

Cullinan, now 53, played 70 Tests for South Africa between 1993-2001. He boasts a highest score of 275 not out and averaged an impressive 44.21 with the bat.

He also played 138 ODIs for the Proteas.
