Mosimane was appointed by Al Ahly in October following his shock resignation from Mamelodi Sundowns and was joined by the Brazilians’ fitness trainer Kabelo Rangoaga, performance analyst Musi Matlaba as well as assistant coach Cavin Johnson.

Since then, they have managed to guide Al Ahly to a season treble for only the third time in the club’s rich history.

MOSIMANE IS UNDEFEATED AS AL AHLY COACH

A 2-1 win over Zamalek in a historic CAF Champions League final in November followed by a victory against Tala’a El-Gaish in the Egypt Cup a week later completed their treble last season, after they earlier won the Egyptian Premier League title.

Pitso Mosimane then kicked-off Al Ahly’s new Egyptian Premier League season with wins over Misr El-Makkasa, Ghazl El-Mahalla, and most recently, Ittihad of Alexandria.

However, Mosimane was hospitalised after testing positive for Covid-19 recently, leaving Johnson in charge on a league win and a CAF Champions League Last 32 1st leg away victory.

All told, since Mosimane’s appointment, Al Ahly have won 13 games and drawn one in all competitions.

As Mosimane looks to keep on improving his side, recent reports are that he has asked Al Ahly officials to add another performance analyst to his backroom staff.

ORLANDO PIRATES’ ANALYST YUSHA SAID CAN SPEAK ARABIC

According to the respected KingFut website, Orlando Pirates’ technical analyst Yusha Said has reportedly been selected by Mosimane to be his newest backroom staff member.

Said is said to have agreed terms with Al Ahly and is heading to Egypt as soon as possible with the official announcement set to take place early next week.

Said can speak Arabic which will make him a perfect fit for the job.

Al Ahly will next be in action on New Year’s day against Wadi Degla at 19:30 (SA time) as they look to stretch their lead atop the standings.
