Siya Kolisi joined the chorus of voices highlighting the importance of remembering the seriousness of the virus.

Kolisi was a late withdrawal from the WP team that claimed a 34-17 win over Griquas at Newlands on Boxing Day with coach John Dobson confirming the loose forward’s absence was as a result of a ‘contact’ situation.

It has since been confirmed the source of the contact was Kolisi’s wife Rachel – who took to social media to confirm that she has tested positive for the virus.

Despite subsequently testing negative for the coronavirus, Siya Kolisi will not make the trip to Bloemfontein for WP’s Currie Cup clash against the Cheetahs this weekend.

In a recent social media post of his own, Siya Kolisi explained how challenging it has been for he and his children to isolate from his wife.
