The clash, undoubtedly the match of the weekend, pits the best of the east versus the north-east of Pretoria against each other for bragging rights.

Both sides come into the match in red-hot form.

Matsatsantsa have bagged 16 points out of a possible 18 in their last six matches, while the Brazilians have managed a total of 24 points in their 10 matches this season, including 7 wins and 3 draws.

Incredibly, it’s their best start to a season since 2010/11.

This has been, astonishingly, an even better start than any of Pitso Mosimane’s title-winning campaigns with the Brazilians!

It’s neck-and-neck on the log as well as in recent encounters between the two teams.

In the last six matches they played, Sundowns lead the head-to-head battle 3-2 with one draw between the sides.

If SuperSport United were to win, they would go to the top of the standings. The match presents the biggest threat to Sundowns’ undefeated streak and title defence to date.

Speaking of defence…

SuperSport United marksman Bradley Grobler presents a massive challenge to Sundowns’ defence. Grobler is in scintillating form having accumulated 10 goals in as many starts.

It’s all to play for between the DStv Premiership’s two form sides: derby bragging rights, three points and top spot in South Africa’s top flight.

Prediction time:

Sundowns to scrape it by a solo goal in an intense and physical derby. SuperSport United 0-1 Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kick-off is at 15:00 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
