Orlando Pirates are sweating on the fitness of star striker Thembinkosi Lorch ahead of their crunch MTN 8 second leg semi-final against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
Kick-off at the FNB Stadium is at 15:30.
‘DOESN’T LOOK GOOD’, ADMITS PIRATES COACH
Lorch was stretchered off during Wednesday’s 1-0 DStv Premiership win over Bloemfontein Celtic with an unspecified leg problem.
“Lorch, it doesn’t look good,” stand-in coach Fadlu Davids said.
“But we’ll get the information from the doctors.”
Davids in standing in for head coach Josef Zinnbauer who has returned to Germany after his son as involved in a tragic car crash.
Meanwhile, Pirates also have doubts over the availability of Terrence Dzvukamanja who was also replaced on Wednesday after a clash of heads.
The Buccaneers will take a handy 3-0 lead into the ‘away’ second leg of their MTN 8 semi-final against the bitter Soweto rivals, and will be favourites to progress to the final.
Lorch was among the scorers in the opening leg at Orlando Stadium.
