DStv Premiership club TS Galaxy axed coach Dan Malesela on Sunday after a struggling start to their 2020/21 campaign – and may already have found his long-term successor.
Despite only recording one win in their opening eight matches, TS Galaxy aren’t the worst team in the league this season.
Far from it in fact.
TS Galaxy are currently in 12th place in the standings, ahead of teams like Kaizer Chiefs (!), Chippa United, Black Leopards and Maritzburg United.
TS GALAXY NAMED AN INTERIM COACH
The Mpumalanga-based side has named Zipho Dlangalala as interim coach while they search for a new permanent coach with their next assignment scheduled for Tuesday, January 5 against Baroka FC at their Mbombela Stadium home ground.
According to reports, TS Galaxy could turn to former Orlando Pirates coach Owen Da Gama to lead the club from early 2021.
Da Gama is currently unattached after, ironically, Highlands Park sold their top-flight status to TS Galaxy at the end of last season.
If Da Gama isn’t their man, other possible coaches TS Galaxy could consider for the position include Eric Tinkler and Allan Freese.
Tinkler is currently jobless after parting ways with Maritzburg United in November while Freese was shown the door by AmaZulu last week following the arrival of Benni McCarthy.
