A late winner saw Orlando Pirates edge 10-man Chippa United in their DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday.

CHILLI BOYS PLAYED THE SECOND HALF WITH 10 MEN

The Chilli Boys played the entire second half a man down after defender Sandile Mthethwa was red-carded in the 44th minute.

Despite their numerical advantage and domination of territory and possession, the Buccaneers struggled to break the deadlock and it took until the 86th minute for them to finally take a well-deserved lead.

Midfielder Fortune Makaringe provided the winner much to the relief of Pirates’ fans.

The win saw Pirates remain unbeaten after seven matches this season – one of only four teams yet to taste defeat.

The Soweto giants jumped to third place in the standings, while Chippa United dropped closer to the relegation zone in 14th spot.
