Kaizer Chiefs will have little to celebrate over the Christmas long weekend after they were held to a goalless draw in their first round, 1st leg CAF Champions League clash at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

Amakhosi’s clash against Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto was their final fixture for 2020.
COACH GAVIN HUNT MADE 3 CHANGES
Coach Gavin Hunt made three changes from the side that drew with Bloemfontein Celtic last weekend, as Philani Zulu was recalled alongside Willard Katsansa and there was a rare start for Lazarous Kambole.
Alas, the changes didn’t improve Chiefs’ fortunes of late as the match finished 0-0.
The second leg is set for Wednesday, 6 January in Angola at a venue yet to be confirmed.
TOUGH SEASON FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
Whoever wins on aggregate will qualify as one of 16 teams for the group stages, while the loser will have a second bite at the cherry, dropping down to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage playoffs.
It’s been a tough 2020/21 season for Gavin Hunt’s men.
The Soweto giants find themselves in a lowly 13th place in the DStv Premiership standings after eight matches, already a yawning 11 points adrift of log-leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns.
