Pitso Mosimane has hardly had a chance to celebrate winning the 2019/20 Egyptian Premier League with Al Ahly before the new season kicked off on Sunday.
AL AHLY GOT OFF TO THE PERFECT START
Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Mosimane’s Al Ahly side started their 2020/21 campaign with a 3-1 win over Misr Lel Makkasa.
Al Ahly got off to the perfect start when Ali Maaloul converted a penalty in the fifth minute.

Misr Lel Makkasa scored the equaliser in the 41st minute courtesy of striker Marwan Hamdi after Al Ahly failed to clear their lines in defence.
Al Ahly restored the lead in the 65th minute after a ball from Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim found Kahraba who made no mistake with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) concurring.
The final nail in the visitors’ coffin came three minutes from time through a half-volley from Amr Al Sulaya following a cross from Maaloul.
Al Ahly took an early lead in the standings after the first of 34 matches in 18-team season in Egypt.
