Grobler’s tally currently stands at 55 since joining the club in January 2013.
The Bafana Bafana striker is two goals behind the late Abram ‘Fire’ Raselemane.
Raselemane holds the record after scoring 57 goals in just 135 appearances during his time with the club from 2001 until 2006 when he left to join Bidvest Wits.
Sadly, the former Bafana Bafana striker died in 2008 from an apparent suicide at the age of 30.
Raselemane played 15 matches for Bafana Bafana.
IT’S TAKEN GROBLER 200 MATCHES TO REACH HIS TALLY
It has taken 32-year-old Bradley Grobler just under 200 matches across all competitions to reach his tally.
Grobler is well aware that he can cement his status as a club legend this season, starting against Chippa United in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday, 6 January.
Kick-off is at 17h00.
“I am extremely excited,” Grobler told KickOff.com.
“SuperSport United is a great club with a lot of history. The club is close to my heart. They have been good to me during good and bad times. It’s nice for me to be able to repay the club where I can.
“They bought me to score goals and if I can score goals and finish as the top scorer, I will be pleased.”
SUPERSPORT UNITED ARE THIRD IN THE STANDINGS
SuperSport United are currently third in the standings, six points behind joint log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and Swallows FC.
Matsatsantsa have however played two fewer matches than both their rivals ahead of them.
