The most famous Formula One family are proud owners of a new pet from Hout Bay’s Domestic Animal Rescue Group (DARG).
Get out the tissues!
Ralf Schumacher and his son David adopted ‘Sammy’ earlier in the week – and the new owners and their adorable dog posed for a picture on the DARG Facebook page.
Ralf Schumacher is the brother of seven-time Formula One drivers’ title winner, Michael.
He is also the uncle of Mick Schumacher who will make his debut in Formula One later this year for the Haas F1 Team.
Ralf himself competed in 180 Formula One races between 1997-2007, winning six of them and finished on the podium on 27 occasions.
He drove for Jordan, Williams and Toyota during his career.
David Schumacher, still only 20-years-old, currently competes in the Formula 3 Championship and will no doubt look to follow in the footsteps of his famous uncle in Formula One.
SAMMY AND HIS BROTHER WERE DROPPED OFF AT DARG
DARG confirmed to The South African that Sammy, along with his brother Biscuit, were dropped off at DARG after their Imizamo Yethu owner no longer wanted them.
Biscuit was subsequently adopted, leaving Sammy on his own, desperately seeking his forever home.
Ralf and his family popped into DARG this week and fell in love with two-year-old Sammy.
By all accounts little Sammy is loving life in his new surroundings.
Now that’s what we call a ‘PAW-some’ story!
